Trevor
Isaacs BA, MA, CSCS** owner |
 |
Trevor has an
undergraduate degree in biochemistry and a graduate degree in
biomechanics and athletic training. In addition to his
extensive education, he possesses certifications in Personal
Training, Advanced Post-Therapeutic Exercise, and Pilates Mat.
Trevor strives to maintain a keen understanding of the latest
breakthroughs in strength and conditioning and therapeutic
exercise. With this in mind, he is preparing to sit for his
board certification in Kinesiotherapy (LKT) as well as his
license as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Trevor uses his broad understanding of the chemical and
mechanical interplay within the human body to help people
establish and reach their goals as efficiently as possible.
“In most cases, an individual’s goals are less about fitting
into an aesthetic ideal and more about proving that they have
control over their body’s shape and functional ability”.
Trevor emphasizes a balanced nutritional approach that is
complemented by a challenging functional strength &
cardiovascular training program but his program designs can be
very diverse. His has worked with professional athletes in
most major sports as well as a number of high school and
collegiate prospects preparing to take the step to the
professional level. When Trevor started Excel as a 3
trainer operation 1998, most of the work focused on the baby
boomer population, trying to retard the effects of aging with
weapons like consistent exercise and proper nutrition. As
Excel and it’s staff have grown over the years, so to have the
need of the diverse clientele. Addressing these specific
needs, and working around areas of limitation have
helped Excel develop a reputation for having a superior staff of
Trainers and Therapists that deliver an unparalleled level of
customer service.

Stephanie Hoffman MS, PT |
 |
Stephanie graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic
Training and
Exercise Physiology from San Diego State University, and her
Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of
Miami.
She
has extensive experience in the field of Sports Medicine and
Orthopedics, including Group Director for Physiotherapy
Associates,
Director at Aztecs Sports Medicine, and currently: owner of
La Jolla Shores Physical Therapy within Excel
Fitness.
She has worked with the San Diego Gulls, The San
Diego Sockers, The San Diego Spirit and the Olympic Volleyball
Team. She has
also worked with numerous athletic trainers at the high school
level
and
tri-athletes around the county.
Stephanie's
areas of emphasis include gait and biomechanics, orthotic
fabrication
and prescription, spine stabilization and manual
therapy techniques
for
all orthopedic conditions. She has published numerous articles
and research papers in various medical journals, and continues
to be an educator for IDEA Health and Fitness Association, UCSD
extension, and the Golden Door Spa.

Jud Felder BA, Cooper Institute |
 |
Jud received a B.S. degree in Exercise Physiology
and Kinesiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He
later worked at the renowned Cooper Institute for Aerobics
Research in Dallas, Texas where he completed his personal
training certification and two other certificate courses:
Biomechanics in Strength Training and Advanced Biomechanics in
Strength Training. Jud has been involved in the fitness
industry for many years, and relocated to La Jolla after two
years at the Fitness Spa, in Dallas, where he worked as a
personal trainer. Jud believes that physical fitness creates
important positive changes to the body and mind, and he utilizes
this philosophy with his clients. “The psychological and
physiological interplay are often misunderstood and
underestimated by people attempting to make changes. This
dynamic is essential to consider if long-term changes are to be
made.” Jud has created strength and conditioning programs for
all populations with an emphasis on the over 50 group. His
programs emphasize balance, co-ordination, form and function,
and always stress a sound nutritional foundation.

Ry Peterson
B.S. |
 |
Ry Recieved his B.S.
in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from Cal.
State San Luis Obispo. He has been involved in weight
training and athletics for over 10 years. Ry emphasizes
cardiovascular and strength training and specializes in core and
stability training. He believes that strengthening the
core musculature prepares the body for dynamic changes whether
they occur on the physical or mental level. His motivating
attitude and unique ability to convey his message, encourages
his clients to live a healthy lifestyle while gaining more
confidence in their abilities in and out of his training
environment.

Jordan Szabad BFA, Pilates Certified |
 |
Jordan received her BFA in dance and finished her studies in
Pilates at Long Beach Dance Conditioning in 2003. Jordan
incorporates her dance background with her broad understanding
of biomechanics a program that will challenge even the strongest
of individuals. Her deliberate and precise movements
target core stability and postural muscles in an attempt to
create complete muscular balance. The Pilates approach can
be helpful in relieving symptoms from Sciatica, Chronic Low Back
Pain, Sacro-Iliac (SI) Joint Instability, as well as other
postural dysfunctions.
